music recording deal

I just got an email sent to my myspace account. There is a company called quickstar productions who wants me on their next emo (genre of music) compilation cd. The company told me that they liked my song, "Love never Dies." They told me that I would get 50% of profits on people who buy my song on itunes. They want me to pay 165 bucks for 50 cd's that I would get that I could sell at whatever price I wanted. They told me if I sold the cd's for 8 bucks i could make 400 bucks. I am excited about this deal and I am going to research this company out and make sure they are legit. I did listen to some previous compilation cd's on iTunes. The compilation cd they want me on is called 11 hour confessions. I think this would be a cool opportunity to get my music out. This cd would be advertised by different artists and it would be passed out and sold at concerts. It would even be put on various radio stations throughout the world. This deal may be a sham but I am going to look into you. Peace out

That is really cool. However, I don't know if you have to pay to get on there. Post your research when you finish. I really loke your music though and maybe you should wait for a better deal. I guess you have to start somewhere. I am really proud of you for doing so well on your posting. I am not used to you posting so much so I forget to check. But you can totally count this as your journal for posterity =)

don't do it!! It's a waste of money! It would be better in ten years to say..I almost got a record deal..then I lost this much money and never got anywhere. Keep your focus but enjoy your hobby. I hope school is going alright. Make sure you make a good impression because your supervisor and cooperating teachers will all have to write you letters of reccomendation to get into grad school or to get your next job...remember that!
